1Scope

These Terms of Service govern the use of the Ping messaging app and related services.

Ping is a communication service for children and families, designed with safety, privacy, and parental control in mind.

By using Ping, you agree to these Terms.

2Who Ping is for

Ping is intended for families with children aged 4 and up.

User roles

  • Parents
  • Children
  • Trusted adults (e.g. grandparents, coaches)
Ping is not a public network and does not support communication with strangers.

3Parent accounts

  • Parents create and manage family accounts
  • Parents create child profiles
  • Parents control approved contacts and enabled features (text, voice, video, stickers)
  • Parents can disable child accounts at any time
  • Parents can delete their own account, including all child data
Parents are responsible for using Ping appropriately and in their child's best interest.

4Child accounts

  • Children cannot create accounts themselves
  • Child accounts are created and managed by parents
  • Children can only communicate with approved contacts
  • Children cannot expand their network independently
Ping is designed to be ad-free, algorithm-free, and free from public discovery.

5Trusted adults

  • Parents may invite trusted adults
  • Trusted adults can only communicate with approved children
  • Trusted adults must accept these Terms
  • Access can be revoked by parents at any time

6Acceptable use

Ping may only be used as intended. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior of any kind. Prohibited activities include:

  • contacting children without approval
  • sending abusive, threatening, or inappropriate content
  • attempting to bypass safety measures
  • commercial use
  • uploading unlawful content
Violations may result in immediate content removal and permanent account termination. Ping is a protected space for real-life relationships.

7Safety & enforcement

  • Users can report messages and/or users
  • Reports are visible to parents first
  • Ping may review escalated reports
  • We may pause connections, restrict, or remove accounts

8Availability

We operate Ping with care, but uninterrupted availability cannot be guaranteed. We may:

  • update or modify features
  • temporarily suspend service for maintenance

9Fees & subscriptions

  • Ping is a paid service for parents
  • Children and trusted adults use Ping free of charge
  • Subscriptions are handled via Apple or Google
  • App Store terms apply
Ping does not receive payment details.

10Termination

You may stop using Ping at any time.

  • Parents may delete their account
  • Data is removed upon deletion
  • We may restrict or terminate accounts for violations of these Terms

11Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are liable only for damages caused by intent or gross negligence. We are not responsible for user-generated content unless we are aware of violations.

12Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as Ping evolves or legal requirements change. Material changes will be communicated appropriately.

13Governing law

German law applies.
